HAUNTEES is a Ghost-Punk / Goth Garage band from Helsinki Finland.

Their debut album SHADOWS FORMING shapeshifts between different genres, while still maintaining a distinctive dark sound that entwines catchy 80’s neoromantic pop hooks to hazy atmospheric soundscapes and gritty, dirty punk-energy. The songs draw inspiration on British 77-punk, twangy Country & Western woes, and freezing cold Finnish forests.

The cover art is made by Martti Jämsä, who is known for his black and white abstract camera-less photography, a technique manipulating light and chemicals directly onto photographic paper to capture visions beyond conventional sight.

“We chose the name Hauntees, because we feel haunted. Don't know by what, but there is definitely something wistful and wintry inside us. Maybe it is the benevolently malevolent spirit of creativity? Being a part of the Hauntees is not a voluntary choice for us. It is something we have to do.”
